In 1970, West Australian Football legend Mal Atwell founded the Mal Atwell Leisure Group. Just like Mal’s efforts on the football field, the family owned organization has gone from strength to strength. A major part of this success has been the continued growth of the Melbourne based distribution arm Consolidated Leisure & Sport and the growth and development of the Mitchell Brand.

Mitchell products were first developed in England and have been synonymous with the billiard, pool and snooker Industry in Australia for over 25 years. The Mitchell range of products now includes balls, cloth, cues and a wide range of accessories. The Mitchell brand of products are solely owned and distributed by Consolidated Leisure & Sport in Australia and New Zealand.

Consolidated Leisure & Sport is the largest supporter of Billiards in Australia. Over the last 10 years has contributed around $1,000,000 to the promotion of Cue Sports. The biggest beneficiaries of this expenditure are the customers and agencies of CL&S. We are currently spending approx. $65,000 per annum, which is primarily directed to national and state government bodies for Cue Sports.

CL&S and the Mitchell Brand currently have exclusive sponsorship arrangements with the Australian Billiards and Snooker Council (10 years) and Australian 8 Ball Federation (5 years). CL&S also supports each State association either through the National body or directly with the state association.
